October/November 2017 Juniors Report Our first air rifle tournament was at Dallastown on October 21. We had four shooters representing Stemmers. Our scores were as follows:
SPORTER CLASS Ethan Hwang 515-12, finished 4th out of 27 shooters, 2nd overall in prone for sporter class Patrick Chen 495 -8, finished 7th out of 27 shooters, this was Patrick’s very first tournament
PRECISION CLASS Patrick S. 554-20, finished 3rd out of 10 shooters, finished 2nd overall in prone for precision class Kacey B. 547-16, finished 8th out of 10 shooters, this was her first precision tournament
Our 2nd tournament was in King George on October 28. We had 4 shooters representing Stemmers. Our scores were as follows:
SPORTER CLASS Patrick C. 497-7, finished 19th out of 98 shooters
PRECISION CLASS David A. 569-26, finished 3rd out of 24 shooters, 3rd overall in standing for precision class and this was his first precision tournament. Kacey B. 550-15, finished 10th out of 24 shooters Patrick C. 544-16, finished 11 out of 24 shooters
Our 3rd tournament was the Capitol City Classic in Annapolis on November 4. We had 1 shooter representing Stemmers and our precision shooters represented MSRPA. Our scores were as follows:
SPORTER CLASS Patrick C. 493-8, finished 21st out of 103 shooters, finished 3rd out of 53 shooters in the new shooter classification for SPORTER class
PRECISION CLASS David A. 565-23, finished 1st out of 9 shooters, finished 3rd overall in prone for precision class, finished 1st overall in kneeling for precision class, finished 3rd overall in standing for precision class and won his 1st precision tournament. Kacey B. 562-23, finished 3rd out of 9 shooters, finished 2nd in kneeling for precision class, finished 1st in standing for precision class Patrick S. 557-19, finished 4th out of 9 shooters, finished 1st in prone for precision class, finished 3rd in kneeling for precision class Tyler F. 535-9, finished 7th out of 9 shooters
Our 4th tournament was at La Plata on November 18. Due to several illnesses, only 1 shooter represented Stemmers. The score is as follows:
SPORTER CLASS Kiryn G. 311-1, finished 101st out of 116 shooters. This was her very first tournament as a shooter.
COLLEGIATE
David A. Participated in the Ohio State Open and the University of Akron Zippy Open. His scores were as follows: Ohio State: Smallbore 536, finished 61st out of 78 shooters. Air Rifle 545, finished 64th out of 80 shooters. Zippy Open: Smallbore 518-13, finished 92 out of 122 shooters Air Rifle 533-11, finished 104th out of 125 shooters. These two tournaments were shot on consecutive days and were the first collegiate tournaments that he has shot.
Liz B. was unable to shoot the Ohio State Open due to injury but did shoot the Zippy Open. Her scores were as follows: Smallbore: 568-19, finished 9th out of 122 shooters. Was the Collegiate Club Champion for the Smallbore portion of the Zippy Open Air Rifle: 578-31, finished 19th out of 125 shooters. Was the Collegiate Club Champion for the Air Rifle portion of the Zippy Open. The Zips Rifle Club of which Liz shoots for, finished 1st overall for the Team Air Rifle Championship and finished 2nd overall for the Team Smallbore Championship.
INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENTS
Our precision shooters have participated in 3 international style tournaments since September. Scores were as follows:
September 10 at Queen Anne’s 4H Smallbore scores: David A. 510-7, finished 15th out of 22 shooters, 1st international tournament Patrick S. 507-8, finished 17th out of 22 shooters Kacey B. 407-1, finished 21st out of 22 shooters, 1st international tournament
Air Rifle scores: Patrick S. 521-6, finished 20th out of 25 shooters David A. 518-14, finished 21st out of 25 shooters, 1st international tournament Kacey B. 509-7, finished 22nd out of 25 shooters, 1st international tournament
October 15 at Queen Anne’s 4 H Air Rifle Scores: David A. 569.3, finished 18th out of 35 shooters Patrick S. 560.0, finished 22nd out of 35 shooters Kacey B. 511.5, finished 30th out of 35 shooters
Smallbore Scores: David A. 527-6, finished 15th out of 28 shooters Patrick S. 514-2, finished 19th out of 28 shooters Kacey B. 456-1, finished 24th out of 28 shooters
November 5 at Queen Anne’s 4 H Air Rifle Scores: David A. 558-15, finished 8th out of 32 shooters Patrick S. 524-7, finished 24th out of 32 shooters Kacey B. 523-9, finished 25th out of 32 shooters
Smallbore Scores David A. 524-14, finished 16th out of 33 shooters Patrick S. 522-8, finished 19th out of 33 shooters
There will be one more tournament before the end of the year at Calvert High School in December. We also have some postals we will shoot before the end of December. Between January and March of next year we will have at least 4 more tournaments to shoot. We will be very busy.
