And the winner is...
The 50/50 was $24.00. I did not get the name of the winner this month, however, I will make a point of getting it in the future. Congratulations to the winner.

Welcome William Foster and Carlos de Vera.

Elections
Elections were held for new officers. Stuart, Don, Robin and Del offered to keep their positions if no one was interested in running for these offices. No one was interested and they kept the office. Mario decided not to run for Secretary again and I was the only person that offered to take over the duties of the office and was almost unanimously elected, the only abstaining vote being my husband. Thank you Mario for the job you did for many years. I hope you have a good time with the Bowling Pin Matches.

AGC Meeting
Del Cockey
410-636-6699
Del was not able to attend our meeting this month no AGC report was available.

LegislativeReport
The club currently has no Legislative Committee. If you are interested in keeping up with what is happening politically and its effect on gun owners, this could be the spot for you. Please see Stuart at the next meeting, this is something we all need to be checking out. There is a new tax being proposed on House Bill 125 Ammunition Tax, which would raise the price of ammo anywhere from $.05 per round to $5.00 per round. Keep an eye on the web page for the updated information on these and other legislative issues.

Juniors
Stuart Stein
410-486-6089
Stu is going to be starting up as soon as the weather breaks and hopes to be shooting in April. He has been contacted by a local Boy Scout Troup, which would like to use the facility and club to earn their merit badges. Stu is looking for help with the Juniors. He cannot do it alone and last year he had to go to another club to get someone to help. If you know someone that might be interested in either participating or in helping with the Juniors, see Stuart.

Action Pistol/IPSC
Jim Meyer
410-833-8310
Jim has flyers from Palmyra, Chambersburg and Lebanon if anyone is interested. Remember that if you want to shoot at Fort Meade it is a green range and you will need to be prepared to shoot accordingly.

Bullseye
Don Pointer
410-747-4956
The matches will be run at the Marriottsville facility in May and June and J Fred Cohen will be running them. The matches are continuing on Tuesday evenings for a couple more weeks. They will be finishing up the season soon. There are air pistol matches being held in Gaithersburg and they are run by Tom Willis, one of the top shooters in the state. It is really good practice for your pistol shooting and everyone that attends says it is a lot of fun.

Shotgun
Don Pointer
410-747-4956
Heart of Maryland is beginning again and Don has the schedule. I will try to get it in the next newsletter for anyone interested in this program. You get to shoot 50 rounds 25 from the 16 line and 25 from your handicap position, which will be determined at the match. They are shooting on Wednesday evening and Sunday afternoon at Marriottsville.

Editorials
A letter from the President
Here we are again with a new shooting season for Stemmers Run. I hope to see all of our members at the club and AGC activities. As with all activities, your support and participation are needed. As always the clubs committees are available to help the membership, but without your input, we cannot fix any problems that may exist. I would like to thank all of the Executive Officers and the Committee Chairpersons for their hard work last year. I hope to see all of the members at the next meeting.
Thank you,
Stuart Stein
President

From the Secretary
Hello everyone. My name is Bobbie and I will be your club secretary for the next year. I will be publishing the newsletter monthly after each meeting and will be mailing it on the Monday three weeks after the meeting. This will give the Post Office plenty of time to make sure the newsletter arrives prior to the next meeting. If there is anything you would like included in the newsletter or any suggestions you may have, please make sure I receive them no later than the second Wednesday after the meeting. My email address is bz@iefurn.com.

In an effort to cut the cost of printing and postage that the club is currently bearing, I would like to know how many members with email would like to receive the newsletter electronically and not receive a mailed hardcopy. I will email directly to the member on the same day I drop the snail mail copies of the newsletter. This is just a suggestion, you are not obligated to do this if you have email and I will not drop you from the snail mail list unless you request me to do so. Let me know at the email address I have provided. I look forward to a busy shooting year as your secretary.

New Web page Address
We have a brand new web page address. It is www.stemmersrun.org. This should make it a lot easier to find club information and to keep track of upcoming events. It has links to many different sites with information relating to shooting events and equipment as well as legislative news. Check it out, you will be pleased.

Looking Back
Friends of the NRA Banquet
The Friends of the NRA banquet was held Sunday March 18th at Wilhelm’s in Westminster with an attendance of almost 400 people attending the banquet. The prizes were really nice and the guns that were won in the games were very well accepted. Dave Walston, a gentleman that lives in Reisterstown and only purchased one ticket at the Timonium Gun Show, won the Ruger Red Label Shotgun. The event earned $13,000.00 for the NRA. This was one of the best banquets ever. Thank you Robin for your hard work.

February Meeting Minutes
Meeting Attendees
Bill Adams, John Bindas, Ronald Bremer, Christopher Bright, Mario Butter, William Carter, Elliott Green, Doug Hess, Robert Holland, Keith Holt, Gregorio Jovellanos, Michael Kalb, Melvin Marshall, Robert Martin, John Mathis, Robin Meyer, Jim Meyer, Charles Miller, Horace Moseley, Charles Oursler, Richard Oursler, Don Pointer, Arthur Spring, Stu Stein, G W Strittmatter, Jonathan Torba, Scott Zeck, Carlos de Vera, William Foster, Judson Craig.

President Stu Stein with the traditional Pledge of Allegiance called the meeting to order. The minutes were accepted as printed in the last newsletter. There was discussion on the condition the newsletters have been arriving in from the Post Office. Stu has asked that if anyone is having problems, they contact their local Post Master General and bring it to their attention. The Treasurers report was read and accepted.

Stu attended the Trustees meeting for the AGC to discuss the By Laws and insurance for the facility. The current insurance does not cover any volunteers working on the property that may be injured. At this point if you are injured when working on the premises you would have to litigate to cover your expenses.Stu is in contact with the insurance agent for the AGC and when the new policy is finalized we will have the insurance agent come as a guest speaker to our meeting and discuss the policy with us.

The club has shirts, hats, polo shirts and jackets with the Stemmers Run logo if anyone is interested Robin has these items and will bring them to a meeting upon request. She does not transport them to every meeting, so if you are interested make sure you let her know.

Stuart is looking for someone to run a Fund Raising Committee and help the club earn a little extra money for events. If this is something that interests you, please see Stu.

The Littlestown Fish and Game Club is running 3D Archery Matches if anyone is interested the information will be posted on the web page and I will try to get one in the next newsletter.

We do not have a calendar of events yet from the AGC, as soon as we have one it will be published in the newsletter. We are trying to arrange a few more club events this year for the members, if you have an idea for an event bring it up at the next meeting.
