great Picnic. The burgers, cold cut platters, the side dishes the members brought,
the desserts were all in abundance and as usual no one walked away hungry. We
also had more than a dozen shooters combine to shoot over 20 rounds. It was a
great day to eat, shoot and socialize. If you missed this one, you missed a
great one. Treasurer's

Congress returned to session just after Labor Day and the so-called "Clinton Assault Weapons Ban" died this past Monday, the 13th. The unrelenting rhetoric coming from anti-gun lobby groups, politicians, and editorial writers the past few weeks have become increasingly shrill and inflammatory, reflecting the sheer desperation felt by the so-called main stream media. Though they undoubtedly know the ban has had no effect on crime (they have access to the same studies that the rest of us do), the symbolism of the ban not being renewed was a stunning blow to their misguided cause, as well as egos. And, their credibility is at stake... these are the people who have been insisting that armageddon would befall our country if the ban was not renewed. So, expect an outrageous amount of rhetoric to worsen as this group introduces yet another version of the same crap. Although neither the House nor the Senate have shown any interest in wasting any of their precious little time before election day November 2nd , the anti-gun organizations will undoubtedly unleash an intense barrage of mistruths to deceive the public into supporting something they otherwise wouldn't care
much about. It is OUR job to ensure your voice is heard too. There's
little time for mailing letters. Sending an e-mail won't hurt, but the
best thing you can do is to CALL both of your Senators AND your Representative
anytime in the next few months to politely state your strong opposition to
renewing any weapons ban. However, let's be realistic…this is the Socialist
Republic of Maryland. It has two
of the biggest liberal weenies (in the same league as Kennedy and Kerry) ever
to serve in the US Senate. Sarbanes and Mikulski are no doubt unshakeable in
their anti-Gun views and will not change their views. Since most politicians already know this is a
loser issue these two will probably ignore anyone opinion that differs from
theirs. So be it!!! If both of them get a dozen or two phone calls from ban
supporters, but receives hundreds or thousands of calls from opponents of the
ban this may shake their faith a bit. So, if you've got the time, give it a
shot!! | . MD State Rifle & Pistol Association Report J. Green Members of the club are urged to investigate the Maryland R & P Association web site: www.msrpa.org Disciplines Hi Power J Green 410-433-2528 The Fall

is less than 50 days away. Your voice should be heard! Quote of the Month: "The
truth is that assault weapons have never been a major source of violent crime.
The only result the law had was a huge negative effect on
law abiding gun owners such as myself. The truth is that gun control does not
reduce crime. If it did, New York, Washington and Los Angeles be nonviolent
utopias". Letter from P. Bagnell Baltimoe Sun Editorial, 09/14/04
